ATPase Assays for ABC Transporters:
Membrane prepared from recombinant baculovirus infected Sf9 cells as well as from mammalian cell or tissue are widely used to detect the interaction of compounds with different ABC (ATP-binding cassette) transporters.

The ATPase Assays are used in two different modes:

  1. ATPase activation and
  2. ATPase inhibition

Vesicular Transport Assays for ABC Transporters :
Membranes prepared from ABC transporter over-expressing cells can be used to assay the interaction of test drugs with ABC transporters.

The Calcein Assay :
SOLVO’s patented calcein assay is an indirect inhibitory type whole cell assay, to provide information on any interaction between the ABC transporter and the test drug that would affect the transport of the reporter compound (fluorescence dye precursor).
