The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a single-stranded RNA coronavirus. Comparisons of the genetic sequences of this virus have shown similarities to SARS-CoV and other bat coronaviruses. In humans, coronaviruses cause respiratory infections. Coronaviruses are composed of several proteins including the spike (S), envelope (E), membrane (M), and nucleocapsid (N). It has been suggested that the spike protein has sufficient affinity to the angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor to use it as a mechanism of cell entry.
Effective detection of the coronavirus is extremely critical. Real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests detect genetic material to perform coronavirus testing. However in resource scarce areas, these tests have low rates of specificity and sensitivity and pose risks related to specimen collection, sample handling, RNA extraction and instrument handling.
KRISHGEN BIOSYSTEMS has developed a range of ELISA kits to resolve these issues. IgG is the most abundant immunoglobulin to be produced in response to an antigen and is maintained in the body after initial exposure for long term response. IgM is the first immunoglobulin to be produced in response to an antigen and is primarily detected during the early onset of disease.
The Quantitative Antibody ELISA kits are being used by clinicians and researchers to estimate antibodies when working on convalescent plasma therapy as treatment of COVID-19 patients.
The wide range of ELISA kits will help researchers working on vaccine and new drug development against Covid-19.
Dr Jayaraman D. Lead Scientist, leading CRO company
I have been working with a team from KRISHGEN on an assay development and customization before giving us. The project was complicated and needed technical expertise in immunology. I was very pleased with their technical competence and also mastering immunology and delivering a tough project to us on time. Their rigor, punctuality and expertise have been a recipe for the high standards, I would expect for such project from them. Kudos, Krishgen Team!!!
Mr Ramesh Sravanan, VP-Supply Chain
The expertise and command on the logistics chain including the regulatory
guidelines from Krishgen is something we admire. As they often indicate, let us
do the supplies, and let your team focus on science … is really something the
company works on. Delivering consistently, with less than 1% error or delay
consistently is the key to their success.
Dr Keith Stevens, visiting Scientist, Norfolk University, UK
To have a company understand science and work with them, is a pleasure. Krishgen
not only sells but understands what it sells in terms of the complex cutting
Mellisa Karlowski, Lead Researcher, east coast US CRO
The company is good on understanding its customers, is transparent and
speaks science. This makes it easier for us to work with them.
